26 volunteers focusing on promote and fundraising for FWB´s projects

In Canada, a group of 26 volunteers promote dissemination and collect donations for projects for the humanitarian organization Fraternity without Borders (FWB). Gathered since 2017, Fraternity Without Borders became official by the Canadian government in 2019 and its main goal is the communication in social networks and the development of ideas to implement their fronts.
“In the middle of 2021 we started a training process, looking for volunteers with specific knowledge, such as human resources and marketing, to help us to set up a solid structure. We have 17 regular monthly donators contributing to the cause. We have just started and all the help we have had to bring more hearts into the cause is part of our plan for the years to come”, explains Cecília Boff, in charge of the FWB Marketing in Canada.
According to her, the FWB in Canada focuses in three FWB’s projects: Garden of Butterflies, in Brazil, and Act Madagascar and Ubuntu Nation, in Africa.
“The cost of bandages that is needed at the Garden of Butterflies is really high in Brazil when compared to the price here in Canada. Thus, our contribution, at least for now, is going to be on the acquisition and shipping of this item. For the Act Madagascar we are seeking at first support for a community (Efotake) with approximately 170 children. This community is located at the south of the island, a place with one of the highest numbers of malnourished people and child mortality due to lack of food and water. And for Ubuntu Nation, in Malawi, our initial support will be to the adult choir. This group is composed of Congo refugees who live in precarious conditions. Those who take part in the choir, besides the benefits for their mental health, receive soy meat, soap and $5 per month to help in their survival”, Cecília describes.
The team started after a visit of the FWB’s Public Relations Director, Andrei Moreira, who presented the organization to a group of people in 2017, in Toronto.
Cecilia has lived in Canada for 14 years and became a volunteer in April 2021. Together, Marcio Lee and Teresa Torres work as president and vice-president, respectively.
“Our main goal is to attract hearts into the cause and promote FWB whenever and wherever possible. We will always work based on our mission: to live and motivate the fraternity practice, with no ethnic, geographic, or religious restrictions, supporting primarily children and the youth in vulnerable or social risk situation. We are also organizing a partnership with the United States FWB pole, a caravan to Malawi for as soon as the pandemic allows us to”, Cecilia ends.
