The humanitarian organization Fraternity Without Borders (FWB) promotes, until March 16th, the event Talking about Fraternity in Brazil and abroad. The initiative aims to provide a reflection on what fraternity is and will be a series of virtual and face-to-face meetings.
In Canada, the theme of the meeting will be about the Butterfly Garden project, this Friday, March 11th, at 5pm (GMT-3), with the participation of lecturer Teresa Torres. The broadcast will be online via the zoom platform and in English. Still in Canada, on March 13th, Sunday, at 12pm (GMT-3), guest Katia Albuquerque will talk about the Ubuntu Nation project, also via zoom.
In Brazil, on March 12th, the speaker Iara Xavier will present the theme “Notebooks go, Sponsors come” (Cadernos vão, padrinos e madrinhas chegam), at 11am (GMT-3). With the musical participation of Plínio Oliveira and the presentation hosted by Ana Lúcia Caetano and Deize Rocha.
Also on Saturday, directly from Rio Grande do Sul, we will have Melissa Monteiro’s presentation, starting at 2 pm (GMT-3), and from Bahia, also at 3 pm (GMT-3), Marcel Mariano’s participation with the theme “From disquiet to hope”. “These moments will be to raise awareness, engage volunteers, value those who already follow with the FSF, helping with outreach, strengthening the work we already do, and bring the knowledge of belonging to . We want to bring a message of fraternity to the public that accompanies us and to all of those who want to know, to help, but still don’t know how. We intend to bring them opportunities to learn about possibilities to help others”, describes the FWB’s volunteering manager, Ângela Araújo.
Talking about Fraternity will be held in different Brazilian states, among them, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Goiás, Rio Grande do Sul, and Ceará, and in other countries, such as Canada, the United States and Italy.
“It’s a meeting guided by charity. Besides introducing the participants to our cause, we want to reflect on which paths the fraternity can take from now on. Our projects, developed in various parts of Brazil and in Africa, are an invitation to build this new fraternal look”, emphasizes Ranieri Dias, FWB’s vice-president.
About Talking about Fraternity: it will be held between March 6th and 16th, 2022, with the objective of providing a reflection on what fraternity is in a series of virtual and face-to-face meetings in Brazil and abroad.
These moments will serve to raise awareness, to take the message of fraternity to the public that is already with us and to all of those who want to know, to help, but don’t know how yet.
